Title: Pre-Emmy Event
It has been a few weeks since we returned from the glitz and glamour of Los Angeles and our little celebrity gifting adventure.We met so many wonderful celebrities who were gracious enough to stop by and say hi and check out Bella and Charlie Designs!The two day event was held at a very fabulous hotel in Beverly Hills called the Intercontinental.To say it was gorgeous would have been an understatement.The lobby/foyer was what they write magazine articles about!!
There were many other great vendors participating, some we even knew from the NYC event (BoskeKids).Some of the other wonderful companies we met were SwimZip, WayTutuCute, DaddyScrubs, Zodiac Baby, b.Box and so many more.One of our favorite parts of the event was how many Canadian companies also took part as well.We represented well, and most of us were all close together.These companies included: Peekinz Baby, Nightmare Nibbler, Ty and Lumi Organics, BoskeKids, and Oops Sheet.Honestly, it felt like home!
Some of the wonderful celebs we were lucky enough to have stop by and say hello included Ming Na (ER), Sarah Drew (Grey's Anatomy), Melissa Joan Hart (Sabrina the Teenage Witch), Ana Ortiz (Ugly Betty), Thomas Ian Nicholas (American Pie), and Samantha Harris just to name a few.
We had a blast introducing Bella and Charlie Designs to the Hollywood Moms and Dads!Can't wait to do it again!

Title: Bella and Charlie Designs is headed to the land of celebs!!
Bella and Charlie Designs has been personally selected to participate in an pre-Emmy event to be held on September 16 and 17th at the Intercontinental Hotel in Los Angeles.
This exclusive two day event is held in a celebrity gifting suite called the Boom Boom Room and was created/organized by famed Hollywood style and glamour guru as well as children's wear designer, Jayneoni Moore.In the past, these events have been attended by Tori Spelling, Leah Remini, Samantha Harris and Denise Richards.
Getting your product and company invited to the lavish event that is loved by celebrities and their children, isn't the only good thing to come of this.These events are also often covered by many entertainment style shows, and featured in the coveted magazines like US Weekly and People, the go to magazines for who's who in Hollywood and what's popular with the celebs!
"This is the third such event we have been a part of and we couldn't be happier about being included.We are looking forward to introducing Bella and Charlie Designs to Hollywood!"

Title: September is right around the corner!
With Summer almost half over, we are gearing up for an exciting event in September but also some changes with our products.We have decided that we will be introducing seasonal "lines" sometime in the fall.As we are starting late, our fall/winter/holiday lines will be smaller with a bigger launch for Spring/Summer 2012.
As we have discovered, you can't always make everyone happy with fabric choices, but in order to best prepare, and have all the right amounts of fabric, that this way is certainly the way to go.Keep checking our facebook and twitter page for more information and sneak peeks of our upcoming lines.
I know that we are super excited for Fall (its my favorite time of the year) and everything it brings for our families as well as Bella and Charlie Designs!Thank you very much for continuing to support us and all of our endeavors.It makes us smile!!

Title: Summer Summer Summer Time!
What a great start to the summer!After a fun and interesting time at the Once Upon a Belly Show in Yaletown last month, we are busy with retail orders, website orders as well as preparing for an exciting event that will take place in Los Angeles in September.When we get the okay, we will share the news with everyone but for now all we can say is it's something very very COOL!
On a personal note, we want to thank of our loyal fans that have continued to support us with notes, emails and BUSINESS!We know that there are many companies that sell handmade baby blankets and bibs, so the fact that you are choosing to buy from us, means the world to us!There is no better compliment than that!

Title: April Showers bring May flowers!
After our exciting trip to the big apple last month, regular life sure seems a lot less busy.Throughout this month we have continued to stay busy as we are attending a really great baby event next weekend.It is the first one, this event, and we are very happy to be a part of it.It's called the Once Upon A Belly baby show and it will take place at the Roundhouse, which is in Yaletown.There will be lots a really great vendors attending (including us) all with services dedicated to babies and children.It's a must see for those expecting or with little ones around!And for the first 250 people attending, you get a swag bag full of free samples and coupons.What can be better than that!
We will also be showcasing some of our potential new fabrics that we may use in our new line of summer bibs coming out!It will be a super fun time.
We also have some great new opportunities on the horizon so stay tuned for more information about that:)

Title: Our New York Adventures
We got back from New York City a few weeks ago after having an amazing time.The first few days we were there were spent exploring the city (always walking and riding the subway, like real New Yorkers do).We knew we wanted to visit certain landmarks, such as 30 Rock, Trump Tower, Fifth avenue shops, Times Square, Central Park...just to name a few.It was fantastic.We walked so much that our poor little feet were so swollen, that just trying to get into bed was difficult, but then we woke up and did it again the next day!
We managed to try some New York Pizza, visited a french bistro in the heart of Greenwich Village, and even sipped Cocktails in the very bar/restaurant that the Sex in the City gals filmed in.It was so much fun.While en route back to our hotel one evening, we walked over to where the World Trade Centre once was.It was essentially a construction zone now, but you could feel the energy of what once was.Quite surreal and unimaginable all rolled into one.It was a very poignant moment for the both of us.
By the time our event day arrived we felt pretty good about our adventure so far. We had a small corner table in the loft where the Press Presentation event was held and through out the course of 5 hours we met a great many magazine editors from Instyle, People, Entertainment Weekly, Parents, Parenting and LuckyMagazine Kids, as well as many online sites and NYC bloggers.We were also lucky enough to meet Bree Williamson, of One Life to Live, who brought her cute little one with her. We connected with some of the other exhibitors (that we knew from before) and made some new friends with some of the new ones.It was a blast!Bella and Charlie Designs was a hit! They loved our blankets, bibs and snack bags.We'll see what happens.
Since we were flying out of Newark, New Jersey we decided to head over that way for a couple days but wondering what we were going to do when we arrived.After speaking with the hotel store clerk, we were told about an Outlet mall so we ventured over there for an evening of shopping and dining in Johnny Rockets.Cool!
The next day we decided to check out Hoboken, and see if we could get into Carlos Bakery...No such luck as there was a 3 hour wait just to get in.As beautiful as it was that day, there was no way we were waiting that long just to buy some pastries. But we had lunch and played bingo(at the same time!) all the while enjoying a mimosa.The streets were lined with people doing the same things as we were, and to be honest, I couldn't wait to head back to the hotel to just relax...but not before purchasing some very delicious cupcakes from Crumbs Bakery.Oh soooooo GOOD!I think we may even eaten 2 each for our dinner that evening. Whatever, we were on vacation right?
The trip home couldn't have taken longer, but I guess that was because we both missed our hubbies and children.Vacation is great but it's always nice to get home too!

Title: March so far!
Wow!February went so fast and now here we are the second week of March already.We have been busy it seems for the last month. We did a bunch of press leading up to the Oscars, (as I mentioned in an earlier blog our bibs got an invitation to be added to another company's gift bags), but then we also got invited to a huge press event in NYC in early April!WOW exciting!!!There will only be about 35 companies going, to show off their products,So it will be a very good opportunity for Bella and Charlie Designs!And you can't beat a trip to NYC in the spring.We are beyond excited about this.Stay tuned for later blogs detailing our adventures while there.
This past weekend was also our semi annual baby/toddler sale here in Nanaimo and we had a great turnout.We sold lots of our bibs and snack bags as well as some of Bella and Charlie's old clothes that no longer fit!We met some great people that we had wanted to meet (Kate at Hudson and Saige) as well as chatted with some of our friends that participated with their companies (Megan at Cushy Tushy, Nicole at Kit n' Caboodle, and Azure).It was definitely a fun but LONG day!
Sunday was a day of relaxing, except for the couple hours I spent fabric shopping and visiting my sister.Did I forget to mention that I love sunday night television!Great for curling up on the couch with family:)

Title: February!
Wow!We can't believe that it's already the middle of February. So many great things have come our way this month. Bella and Charlie has been extremely lucky to be able to tag along with an amazing company and send some of our bibs to the pre-Oscar gifting suite(later this month), at the Boom Boom Room. A fantastic company out of Pennsylvania, "Char Lynn Belly N' Baby", graciously allowed us to send some of our bibs in her store's gift bags, when she heads down to LA later this month.Super exciting.THANK YOU KRISTIE!!!
We have also been busy working on our line of bibs and blankets, choosing our new fabrics and contemplating some old ones. It always seems that the ones we have grown out of love with are the ones people seem to keep ordering, Go figure!Either way, we have some really nice fabrics coming soon for our new bibs and blankets.YAY!
We are also working on our Baby/toddler sale that we will be having locally, next month and it's looking like it's going to be a good one.
